Brawley born and raised. Ivan wrestled at Brawley Union High School, graduated in 2007, and never really left the mat — he went on to win a Southern California Masters title representing Brawley, and he still trains alongside the athletes he coaches. He runs every group from the first-day beginners to the middle schoolers getting ready for the high school room, and he coaches the way he wrestles: fundamentals first, relentless pace, and no shortcuts. If your kid has never stepped on a mat, Ivan is the first person they'll meet.

If Ivan is the room's discipline, Stevie is its pulse. He's the coach who has the whole room fired up before warm-ups are over, who remembers every kid's name by the second practice, and who'll be the loudest voice in the corner at a tournament. Off the mat you'll find him chasing the next mountain or the next adventure — and bringing that same all-in energy back to Brawley every week.
